Updated at 11:03 A:M, MST: Two days ago I posted an article that was the start of a running tally on public shootings. Two dead in Portland, Oregon, with the gunman also dead. I said then that more shootings would soon follow, and I hoped my prediction was wrong.

It wasn't. I believe that promotion of a gun culture is a large contributing factor in these lone gunman shootings, and the N.R.A. has a little more blood on its hands after every shooting.

The grim tally continues.
